Fine Large Meissen Mantel Clock „Four Seasons”

 

Body of fine rococo shape, applied with flowers, leaves, branches and foliage.

To the left of the base a sitting putto, wearing a fur. He is warming his hands over a fire. He is symbolizing the winter.

To the right of the base a sitting putto, a flower garland in his hair, holding a flower garland in his hands. He is symbolizing the spring.

In the middle part of the base a sitting putto, ear of corn in his hair, holding ear of corn and a sickle in his hand. He is symbolizing the summer.

On the top of the clock a sitting putto, with wine leaves and grapes in his hair, holding a vine goblet in his hand. He is symbolizing the autumn.

 

Round brass clock face with roman numbers. Clockwork with stroke.

 

Very fine and rich polychrome decoration with gold.
