A Pair of elegant KPM Berlin wall mirrors

 

Cartouche form with relief, leaves, ribbons, a shell as well as a laurel wreath framed medaillon on an ermine fur coat, flanked by two puttos.

Inside the medaillons in fine polychrome colours two children, one singing the other playing piano and portrait of King Louis XVI.

A similar mirror was in the property of Princess Wilhelmine of Courland, Duchess of Sagan and was given to her as a present by King Frederick II of Prussia.

Today the mirrors are in the castle Sanssouci in Potsdam.
